The Context
The outcome of the Wisconsin Supreme Court election will decide who controls the top judicial body in the state, potentially influencing decisions on topics such as reproductive rights, labor unions, electoral regulations, and district boundaries. This contest pits liberal nominee Crawford against conservative ex-State Solicitor General Brad Schimel.
What To Know
On Wednesday, America PAC disclosed that Scott A., hailing from Green Bay, was the organization’s first “million-dollar spokesperson,” as shared through social media channels.
Musk retweeted the message, stating that it was “thrilling to announce our initial prize of one million dollars for backing our campaign against activist judges in Wisconsin.” He also mentioned that “the following one-million-dollar reward will be unveiled in forty-eight hours.”
The petition urges voters to stand against “activists” within the judicial system, stating on the website: “Judges ought to interpret laws based on what they say, rather than altering them to align with their individual or political objectives.”
By signing here, I refuse to accept the actions of activist judges who enforce their personal opinions and call for a judicial system that acknowledges its duty—to interpret laws rather than create them.
The petition drive was initiated shortly after early voting started in Wisconsin and mirrors strategies employed by organizations linked to Musk throughout the 2024 presidential election season. At that time, these groups offered daily prizes of $1 million to those who signed a comparable petition advocating for the First and Second Amendments in key battleground states.
As reported by WisPolitics, America PAC subsequently acknowledged in court that
The million-dollar prizes were not arbitrary.
, but these were provided to individuals considered appropriate “representatives” for the PAC’s message.
Musk, who became the foremost contributor in the 2024 electoral race, significantly increased his political engagement this year by donating $2 million to Wisconsin.

:
We have always considered Brad Schimel to be a poor candidate due to his push for an extreme abortion ban that would roll Wisconsin’s policies back to 1849.
It appears that Schimel is so inadequate as a candidate that Elon Musk will expend unlimited resources to bolster Schimel’s struggling campaign. This is an unethical effort aimed at purchasing sway over the Supreme Court for his corporation’s legal battle. Such actions are corrupt, excessive, and shameful for both our state and judicial system. On election day, Wisconsin voters should support the equitable and sensible choice by casting their ballots for Judge Susan Crawford.
reached out to Schimel’s spokesperson through an emailed request for their input.
Groups backed by Musk have invested $10 million in supporting Schimel, according to The Associated Press. Tesla is currently involved in legal action against Wisconsin due to a ruling that prevents them from establishing dealerships within the state. This lawsuit might ultimately be heard by the state’s highest court.
What Happens Next
The drive to gather signatures is scheduled to wrap up on April 1, which coincides with the election day in Wisconsin. The result of the contest between Crawford and Schimel will decide who controls the court for at least the coming two years.
Musk’s political action committee (PAC) has indicated it plans to apply this campaigning strategy in various other states during the 2026 midterm elections.
