Lady Gaga’s seventh studio album, Mayhem, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, marking a major achievement. The album’s lead single, Abracadabra, also reached impressive chart positions. Gaga first debuted the track during a commercial break at the Grammys in February.
The album, which is a compilation of dancefloor hits, includes previously released singles such as Disease, Abracadabra, and Die With A Smile featuring Bruno Mars, as reported by Variety.
Mayhem marked Gaga’s biggest debut of the year, earning 219,000 units sold in its opening week, according to Luminate. This achievement made it the largest debut week sales for a female artist’s album in 2025.
Gaga has previously topped the charts with albums like Chromatica (2020), the A Star Is Born soundtrack with Bradley Cooper (2018), Joanne (2016), Cheek to Cheek with Tony Bennett (2014), Artpop (2013), and Born This Way (2011).
In related chart news, Blackpink member Jennie makes her solo debut at No. 7 with her debut LP Ruby, earning 56,000 units. The album, which features pop and R&B tracks, garnered nearly 40 million streams and 26,500 sales. Ruby includes collaborations with Childish Gambino, Doechii, Dominic Fike, FKJ, Dua Lipa, and Kali Uchis. It marks the third solo debut from a Blackpink member to enter the top 10, following Rose’s Rosie at No. 3 and Lisa’s Alter Ego at No. 7.
Mayhem also achieved the biggest week of 2025 for a female artist’s album and is the largest debut from a female artist in over six months.
This week’s top 10 includes Kendrick Lamar’s GNX at No. 2 with 81,000 copies sold, PartyNextDoor and Drake’s $ome $exy $ongs 4 U at No. 3, SZA’s SOS at No. 4, Tate McRae’s So Close To What at No. 5, Sabrina Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet at No. 6, Bad Bunny’s Debi Tirar Más Fotos at No. 8, Morgan Wallen’s One Thing at a Time at No. 9, and Chappell Roan’s The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess at No. 10, according to Variety.
