An intriguing revamped map has highlighted the most sought-after careers worldwide, showing that piloting is the top aspirational profession globally for 2025.

On the map, countries are color-coded to show the occupations their inhabitants are most eager to gather information about, possibly with the intention of pursuing those careers.

The phrase How to become an aviator was searched 432,360 times on Google in 2024, with the search trend peaking in Egypt, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia.

Based on a study conducted by the financial services provider, Remitly, the second most sought-after profession globally is that of an attorney, with 393,380 searches worldwide. In numerous countries, the legal field tops the list for online inquiries, including France, Brazil, China, and Spain.

Serving as a police officer ranks third (272,730) globally and stands as the top desired profession in both South Korea and Poland.

In England, Scotland, and Northern Ireland, How to become a YouTube creator (13th globally, with 171,840 searches) is the most sought-after career, leading the rankings in Singapore, Indonesia, and Fiji.

Flight attendant leads in the United States (ranks 17th globally with 154,810 positions) and is also considered the most coveted profession in Jamaica and Barbados.

Positions in the healthcare industry similarly attract many job seekers: pharmacist (4th globally with 272,630 searches, top in Japan) and nurse round out the top five dream careers, ranking number five globally with 248,720 searches.

Physical therapist secures the sixth position in the rankings (244,050), midwife comes seventh (227,010), and prosecutor is eighth (220,870, leading in Turkey).

The remainder of the top 10 consists of actor (ninth with 199,150 searches, top in Austria) and judge (tenth with 198,450 searches).

Although it doesn’t crack the top 20 global job searches, ‘How to Become a Disc Jockey‘ (109,650 searches) is the top career search term in Australia, Canada, Ireland, India, and New Zealand.


In Europe, both Italy and Bulgaria are struggling to find employment opportunities within the global top 20. Fitness trainer (70,180 worldwide) tops the list of dream careers in Italy, while taxi driver leads in Bulgaria.

Professor, ranking 12th globally with 175,420 searches, leads the charts in Portugal, Belgium, and Germany, while Wales deviates from this trend, with the YouTuber trend in the United Kingdom, and paramedic (20th globally, 136,820 searches) leading as the highest search.

In Central America, attorney (2nd globally, with 393,380 searches) is exceptionally popular and ranks as the most sought-after career in Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, and the Dominican Republic.

Attorney also gains popularity in South America, but ‘How to become an actress‘ is most prevalent in Argentina (97,700), while firefighter leads in Chile (16th globally with 155,120 searches).

How to be a content creator‘ (52,360 searches) is a leading choice in Africa, topping the list in Nigeria, Cameroon, and Tanzania, while other creative careers such as blogger and author also feature.

Although entrepreneur fails to make the top 20 worldwide, it’s the most popular choice in CĂ´te D’Ivoire, Angola, Republic of Congo, Congo, Madagascar, Gabon, Guinea, and Senegal.


In Asia, ‘how to be a doctor‘ (11th globally, 192,280 searches) leads as the highest query in both Myanmar and the Philippines, while attorney is the top preference in the Middle East.

Jordan deviates from the regional legal norms with ‘how to become a soccer player‘ (95,950), topping the list as the most desired profession among locals.

The inhabitants of Papua New Guinea would prefer to be creative writers, distinguishing themselves from the rest of Oceania, where DJ and attorney are the top choices.
