Poland’s Prime Minister Donald Tusk has jokingly added Jesse Eisenberg’s name to the conversation by extending a lighthearted invitation to the U.S. actor and filmmaker, who was nominated for an Academy Award. A Real Pain.
Eisenberg, who has recently acquired Polish citizenship and has appeared in movies such as The Social Network, Zombieland, and for his roles in the Now You See Me film series, received military training from Tusk—a rigorous program that positioned him as “the next James Bond.”
Tusk uploaded a video on X featuring him watching a segment from Eisenberg’s appearance on NBC’s The Tonight Show. During this appearance, Eisenberg humorously mentioned that the next day after obtaining his citizenship, he checked the news and saw “the lead story was ‘Poland now mandates compulsory military service for all men.'” This comment elicited laughter from the audience.
In his video, Tusk stated: “Jesse, there truly isn’t anything to fear!” He emphasized that participation in the military training is optional.

The Polish Prime Minister stated that they require an armed force consisting of 500,000 troops, exceeding the present count by over twice as much, incorporating reserves into this total.
Last week, he also mentioned that beginning in 2027, the government plans to train 100,000 volunteers annually with military instruction as part of their effort to create a reserve force.
He stated that he believed “there would be no lack of people willing to volunteer.”
